ABOUT THE COMPANY & COMMUNITY
LifeSkills, the premier behavioral healthcare provider of South Central Kentucky, is seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our successful and mission-driven organization as President/CEO. 
The company has an annual operating budget of over $38 million and employs approximately 500 staff.  LifeSkills offers an array of quality, community-based behavioral health, developmental disability and substance abuse services, serving about 10,000 customers a year.  LifeSkills has a solid balance sheet and has been in business for over 45 years with offices in ten Kentucky counties.
LifeSkills serves South Central Kentucky with the company headquarters in Bowling Green, one of the few places that have discovered a way to balance small town values with just enough cosmopolitan elements to achieve an excellent quality of life.  Bowling Green has a robust economy, abundant housing choices, and an overall affordable cost of living.  The area boasts excellent schools and educational opportunities, including Western Kentucky University, the six-campus Bowling Green Technical College, and the Bowling Green Community College.  The local arts and cultural community is active with multiple regional theatres, SkyPac (one of the finest cultural venues in the state), artistic events, sports, the 100-year old Bowling Green and Western Symphony Orchestra, the Bowling Green Chamber Orchestra, and there are numerous dining and entertainment venues available throughout the region. 

ABOUT THE POSITION
The President/CEO is employed by the LifeSkills Board of Directors to further the mission of the organization by administrating operations to achieve the goals and objectives developed as the result of the Board’s strategic planning.  This position administers personnel and assets of the corporation in a manner consistent with Board approved policies and procedures.  The President/CEO, working in conjunction with the executive staff, will evaluate, develop and administer programs and services needed in the region. The efforts of the President/CEO will focus on innovative ways to provide quality, “best practices” treatments and services that are affordable, justifiable and effective.  The candidate for this position will be a good communicator and be able to motivate staff to work toward organizational goals. LifeSkills’ Board embraces sound financial principles and holds this position accountable for balanced budgets and acceptable risk management practices.   It is the responsibility of the President/CEO to maintain the infrastructure of the organization in a manner that promotes growth of the organization and improves the quality of life for both clients and staff. Salary and benefits are competitive and the successful candidate will be asked to enter into a multi-year contract with the Board.

  • QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered, applicants must possess a demonstrated aptitude of compassionate, visionary, leadership.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum education of an earned Master’s Degree from one of the Regional Accreditation Agencies, such as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Requirements also include the applicable managerial experience necessary to manage an organization of our size and complexity.  Multiple year knowledge and/or direct experience with CMHC or similar/related organizations are an advantage.

Candidates with successful, hands-on, experience with program implementation and operations, practical experience with strategic planning, and budget management will be given priority consideration. 

Candidates must be able to forge partnerships with local stakeholders, community leaders, elected officials, the media, advocacy groups, private businesses, the general public, as well as, be able to build and maintain relationships with state and other government entities.  Fundraising experience is very desirable. 

Knowledge of legal, regulatory and external payer requirements and compliance issues associated with CMHC operations is a plus.
